Description: |
- This monumental horizontal dial is 15 ft. in diameter sitting on a foundation of poured concrete and rebar. The dial face is etched on 4 large granite slabs from Canada. The gnomon is a 6-inch diameter steel pipe 97inches tall with a welded nodus ball and a triangular sheet beneath the gnomon that has a sun and the school logo (a mountain range) cut into it casting projected images onto the sundial face.
The dial longitude is set to Mountain Daylight Savings Time when adjusted for The Equation of Time. Roman numerals mark the hours and time is marked every 15 minutes from 5:30am to 8:45pm. The nodus shadow shows the date including the solstice and equinox lines and 4 anniversary date lines.

- This is the largest sundial in Wyoming. The stone required was so large that the only company that could supply it was in Canada (Across the Board Creations). They also cut and etched it.
