Description:
  • This simple stainless steel armillary is called the "TimeKeeper Sundial" is approximately 20 inches (51cm) in diameter with meridian circle and equatorial timekeeping circle. The gnomon is a classic arrow rod. The hexagon stainless steel pedestal has six medallions at the top with medial motifs.

    From an article in the Citizen-Times (see link), Paul Moon notes: "A new addition to a popular path in Mars Hill sees the continued growth of a public art project celebrating Madison County manufacturing. The Nov. 18 unveiling of “Timekeeper,” an armillary sundial created by Tennessee-based artist Mary Ruden, adds a second art work along the Otis T. Duck Greenway in Mars Hill....'Timekeeper' honors Marshall’s packaging manufacturer Printpak. Inlaid into the sundial’s pedestal are medallions representing the individuals who make and use the company’s products."
