- San Diego State University campus on Montezuma Mesa, 5500 Campanile Drive in San Diego. The dial is front of Hepner Hall and at right angles in front of the Administration Building in a large open plaza.

| Description: |
- This broad band equatorial dial was dedicated in 1978 to George A. Koester, former Executive Dean of San Diego State University. The approximately 3-foot dial is on a brick pedestal situated on on a small dais. Concentric brick circles complete the large dial plaza.
The anodized aluminum equatorial band has hour lines from 6am to 6pm. Only the start and end hours are graced with Roman numerals; the remaining hours have simple markers. The ecliptic line with zodiac figures grace the cylindrical dial plate. Time and date are read from a bright dot of sunlight cast by a hole in the sun-burst gnomon.
No analemma lines, but the Equation of Time is engraved in the dial face.
