    Vehicular access to the park is via the Zaharis Elementary School driveway. Park hours are sunrise to sunset daily.
 
Description:
  • This concrete analemmatic dial is set is a larger concrete plaza located in a City park with an overall theme of Sonoran Desert environmental education and nature-based play.

    The design of the dial is simple. The analemmatic path in the center of the dial have the names of the months etched into the concrete and etched Arabic numbers mark the hours from 6am to 6pm. But the alignment of the hour marksis rotated such that the noon mark occurs at 12h 26m based on the longitude correction from Mountain Time meridian of 105°. The exact correction is 26min 30sec.

    The dial and park is adjacent to an elementary school and is intended to help educate park patrons and school-age children about how the sun's path of travel across the sky shifts on a daily and seasonal basis.
