Astrolabe in the Tradition of Chaucer
Until further notice, NASS Shop items cannot be sold or shipped to addresses in the EU.
NASS is pleased to offer an astrolabe in the tradition of Chaucer, following his manuscript of 1390. The astrolabe is 7 inches (180mm) in diameter with the Climate Plate tailored to your latitude.
This working astrolabe is in the English tradition of Chaucer during the period 1326-1400 and will be constructed specifically for your latitude. Although the astrolabe is a medieval instrument, this one has been updated for the precession of the equinox for modern day use. The astrolabe is 3D-printed using PLA plastic.

One of the highlights of the NASS conference in St. Louis was the 3D printed Schmoyer Sunquest civil time dial. The Schmoyer Sunquest is 3D printed plastic at 1/3 - scale (5 1/2" diam.) of Richard Schmoyer's original design. All requests will be filled in the order in which payment is received. If you want a dial for the Southern hemisphere or the original "classic" Schmoyer Sunquest dial without adjustment knob, you must let us know at the time you order the dial.
