Astrolabe in the Tradition of Chaucer

Astrolabe in the Tradition of Chaucer

NASS is pleased to offer an astrolabe in the tradition of Chaucer, foolowing his manuscript of 1390.  The astrolabe is 7 inches (180mm) in diameter with the Climate Plate tailored to your latitude.

This working astrolabe is in the English tradition of Chaucer during the period 1326-1400 and will be constructed specifically for your latitude. Although the astrolabe is a medieval instrument, this one has been updated for the precession of the equinox for modern day use. The astrolabe is 3D-printed using PLA plastic.
