- Description:
- A standard cast bronze sundial, 12 inches in diameter. It shows solar time with Roman numerals from V to VII with noon as XII. Also marked are the half and quarter hours. The hour lines and gnomon angle are correct for the latitude. The gnomon root is in the center of the circular casting in the center of the wind rose showing the cardinal directions. In 2026 gnomon observed to be bent over eastwards so time indications will be incorrect.
- Inscription:
- I COUNT ONLY THE SUNNY HOURS On nearby plaque: This Rose Garden was begun in 1937 and the sundial added in 1947 by the Round Table Club.
