Habermel's design is elegant and was made while instrument maker to Emperor Rudolf II in Prague fom 1593 until his death on the15th of November 1606., His dial is rotated on a string until the gnomon shadow falls on the circular date line, and time is obtained by reading the corresponding shadow to a nearly straight hour line. This dial is much easier to use than the ring dial except that this dial must be made for a specific latitude.
Therefore your Habermel Decliner is unique. For display, it comes with a stand. It is shipped in a USPS Flat Rate Priority Box. At no additional cost your name and latitude will be embossed at the top of the dial. If the dial is a gift, let us know name and appropriate latitude. Assembly of the gnomon on the dial face is required. Spot of glue recommended,
