The 2 stones of the eastern portal. When standing in the center of the sun-wheel, ideally the sun's rise at spring and fall equinox can be seen between these two stones. In actuality, trees and a small hill several miles away prevent view of the horizon and an observer will finally see the sun well above (and slightly south) of these equinoctal portals. |
