Digital Publications
        ShadowCatchers

The ShadowCatchers Collection is back in print... and growing ! Furthering its commitment to the preservation of dialing knowledge and lore, in 2001 The North American Sundial Society began its sponsorship of The ShadowCatchers Collection - a series of reprints of rare works on dialing.

Each title in the collection reproduced a centuries-old dialing text not readily available elsewhere. And originally each title was available only for a limited time as a hardbound printed book.

Now the entire collection is once again available - now in economical softbound (perfect binding) printed volumes (and, of course, still available on CD).

AND... we have added an eighth title to the collection:
Jacques Ozanam - A Treatise of Gnomonicks (1712)

        The Repository
The NASS Repository. A treasure trove of dialing material on a single CD !

        Dialing Patents

This CD presents the full text and graphics of nearly 400 patents related to sundials. The patents are from the U.S., England, France, Russia, Japan, Germany, and other countries. They range from the brilliant to the mundane, and from successfully implemented products to those that never quite saw the light of day.

        Analemmas
How to build dials with the method in use in the epoch of the ancient Greeks and Romans
                By Alessandro Gunella

This text provides a modern treatment of an ancient subject. It is the work of one of the leading Italian proponents of the graphical method in dialing, and it fills a significant hole in the literature of gnomonics, representing a full treatment of classical dials as derived from the analemma.

        The Dialist's Companion
The Dialist's Companion A computer program written especially for dialists. Follow the link for a complete overview and a summary of the data elements presented. The program has been released to non-members as shareware and can be downloaded.
